Capital Development Authority (CDA) has sealed a total of 17 illegal and unapproved structures during a large-scale operation in Zone-V of Islamabad, targeting violations of the Islamabad Building Control Regulations-2020 (amended 2023).
The action was carried out on the directives of the Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics, who also serves as Chairman CDA, as part of the ongoing crackdown on unauthorized construction across the federal capital.
The operation was led by the Directorate General of Building & Housing Control (B&HC), in collaboration with CDA Enforcement, Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration, and local police. The joint team sealed Wasna Palace Marquee for operating without approved building plans, alongside 14 illegal commercial structures in Jinnah Gardens Society (FECHS), specifically in the Touseef Commercial and Shaheen Commercial Blocks. Additionally, two more buildings under construction along Japan Road in Mouza Gagri were also sealed.
Three separate Stop Work and Regularization Notices were issued to nearby violators in the same vicinity along Japan Road. According to CDA officials, these structures were engaged in unauthorized commercial activities without submitting building plans or paying mandatory fees and penalties. The absence of legal documentation and unapproved construction triggered the enforcement response.
The enforcement teams, operating under the protection of ICT Police and a Magistrate from the ICT Administration, affixed sealing and warning notices on-site and cordoned off all active construction zones to prevent further violations. CDA emphasized the operation was conducted strictly within the legal framework and all necessary protocols were followed during the sealing.
