Pakistan’s Passport Ranked Among World’s Weakest

Pakistan’s passport has once again ranked among the weakest in the world, placing fourth from the bottom in the Henley Passport Index 2025, ahead of only Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan.

According to the latest rankings released on Tuesday, the index evaluates passport strength based on the number of destinations a holder can access without a prior visa. It draws data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and includes 227 destinations globally.

At the top of the list, Singapore retained its position as the world’s most powerful passport, offering visa-free access to 193 destinations. Japan and South Korea followed closely in second place with access to 190 destinations, while several EU nations — including Germany, France, and Spain — shared third place with 189 destinations.

Among the notable performers, the UAE secured 8th position with access to 184 destinations, rising 34 places over the past decade — the fastest climb among all countries.

Meanwhile, traditional leaders like the US and UK continue to slide. The UK now stands at 6th with access to 186 destinations, while the US has dropped to 10th, barely remaining in the top 10.

India showed significant progress, jumping eight spots to 77th, while Saudi Arabia rose to 54th after gaining access to four additional countries.
