This comes days after a similar operation in the Kuzabanda area of Battagram district, where a slaughtered donkey was seized. Two suspects from Hunza and Mansehra were taken into custody during a raid carried out by the Additional Assistant Commissioner and a Food Inspector, following a tip-off.

Earlier, in a major crackdown on illegal meat trade, the Islamabad Food Authority recovered nearly 1,000kg of donkey meat from a farmhouse in Tarnol. Over 50 live donkeys were also found on the site, and a foreign national was arrested.

Authorities say such operations will continue to eliminate the illegal meat trade and protect public health.
