The Punjab Health Department has extended outpatient department (OPD) hours in all government teaching hospitals, giving patients more time to access medical care.
As per an official notification, OPDs will now operate from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Mondays to Thursdays and Saturdays, one hour longer than before, while Friday timings will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A Health Department spokesperson said the move is intended to serve more patients, cut waiting times, and improve access, particularly for those traveling from remote areas.
Hospital administrations have been directed to strictly follow the new schedule.
