Chicken Supply to Remain Suspended in Karachi

The Sindh-Balochistan Poultry Wholesale Association (South Zone) has officially announced that there will be no chicken supply in Karachi today (Thursday).

According to the association’s president, Malik Zarif Awan, the suspension is due to severe weather conditions and road blockages, which have made it impossible to transport poultry safely.

He explained that most poultry farms are located in the katcha (riverine) areas, where trucks often get stuck or overturned. Such accidents not only damage the goods but also leave workers injured, causing repeated losses for the suppliers.

Malik Zarif added that the association has now decided not to send transport vehicles to the farms during heavy rains until road conditions improve.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has declared a climate and agriculture emergency in the country in response to the ongoing challenges.
