Famous Social Media Influencers Ignore Cyber Crime Agency’s Notices in Gambling Apps Promotion Case

The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has issued notices to several well-known content creators, including Rajab Butt, Anas Ali, Iqra Kanwal, Hasnain Shah, and Irum Mehmood, in connection with the promotion of gambling applications.

According to the notices, the content creators have been directed to appear before the NCCIA office in Gulberg 2 on September 15 at 11 a.m. to record their statements. The agency stated that this step is aimed at ensuring a fair trial.

The NCCIA clarified in its notices that “you were called twice previously to join enquiry proceedings, but you deliberately did not join.” The agency further warned that failure to appear would be considered as having no defense or statement to present in the case.

The creators are accused of promoting online trading and gambling apps, luring young people into investments, and using social media platforms to market unregistered and unlicensed applications. Authorities allege that these activities were part of a planned scheme that caused financial losses to the public.

Earlier, on August 17, NCCIA arrested YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, popularly known as “Ducky Bhai,” from Allama Iqbal International Airport on similar charges of promoting online gambling applications.
