Govt Likely to Increase Petrol and Diesel Prices This Week

Petroleum prices in Pakistan are set to rise from September 16, 2025, for the next two weeks, following gains in global oil markets amid renewed geopolitical tensions.

Petrol is expected to increase by Rs. 1.54 per litre to Rs. 266.15, up 0.6% from the current Rs. 264.61. High-speed diesel, widely used in transport and agriculture, may rise by Rs. 4.79 per litre to Rs. 274.78, marking a 1.8% jump.

Kerosene is projected to go up by Rs. 3.06 per litre to Rs. 179.87, while light diesel oil could climb by Rs. 3.68 to Rs. 163.44, a 2.3% increase.

On Sept. 1, the government reduced diesel prices by Rs. 3 per litre but left petrol unchanged.
