Punjab to Launch New Tourism App With 170 Popular Spots

The Punjab government has announced the launch of a new digital initiative aimed at promoting tourism and facilitating travel for both local and international visitors.

On the instructions of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the “Magnificent Punjab Tourism App” has been developed to international standards, offering travelers all essential information with just one click.

According to officials, the app features details of 170 tourist sites, complete with Google coordinates and virtual guidance tools. It will be officially inaugurated by the Chief Minister on World Tourism Day.

The project has been jointly developed by the Punjab Tourism Department and the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). Notably, the app includes AR/VR technology, allowing users to preview attractions virtually before visiting them in person.

Along with destination information, the app also offers hotel and restaurant booking, as well as an integrated online taxi service through partnerships with ride-hailing companies. For safety, it provides emergency contact numbers to assist tourists in urgent situations.

Officials believe the initiative will play a crucial role in attracting more visitors, enhancing the province’s tourism sector, and improving travel convenience.
