Here’s Punjab Govt’s Update on Changing Traffic Police Uniforms

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has withdrawn her earlier directive to change the uniform of traffic wardens, deciding to retain the existing attire across the province.

According to official sources, the Chief Minister had initially ordered a uniform redesign four months ago. Following the directive, traffic authorities developed a new prototype, which was presented for approval. However, after reviewing both the existing and proposed uniforms, Maryam Nawaz instructed that the current uniform should remain in use.

In response, traffic officials have begun procurement planning to supply the existing uniform design. Approximately 14,000 new uniforms and accessories are expected to be purchased for wardens serving in Lahore and other districts of Punjab. The procurement will be funded through an allocation of Rs. 80 million, designated for the uniform supply initiative.
