An Anti-Customs Court (ACC) in Karachi on Thursday sentenced a man named Zahoor to six years in prison for attempting to smuggle 60 iPhones from Dubai, valued at Rs. 31.4 million.
Judge Shabana Rasalat also ordered the confiscation of all movable and immovable assets owned by the convict. Additionally, the 60 iPhones, found sealed in a locked package, were ordered to be seized by the government.
Zahoor was apprehended last month at Islamabad International Airport while trying to bring in the smartphones illegally from Dubai.
Following the court’s verdict, law enforcement officers took Zahoor into custody from the courtroom and transferred him to Adiala Jail.
