An elderly man was allegedly tortured to death by the management of a private housing society in Lahore’s Kahna area on Sunday.
The victim, identified as 65-year-old Sadiq, had visited the housing society’s office to discuss pending installments of his property when the incident occurred.
According to the victim’s family, the society’s management had repeatedly warned Sadiq over delayed payments. A police official said that Sadiq, accompanied by his son Rashid Ali, went to the office to resolve the issue. During the discussion, an argument reportedly broke out between Sadiq and members of the management team.
The situation escalated when several employees allegedly attacked Sadiq and his son. The police official stated that Sadiq collapsed during the assault and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Rashid alleged that the housing society’s security staff, including guards, physically assaulted his father, which led to his death.
Police said a team reached the site after receiving information about the incident and launched an investigation. The suspects, however, managed to flee before police arrived. Authorities confirmed that efforts are underway to identify and arrest all individuals involved in the fatal attack.
