The Muzzaffargarh district in Punjab has declared Saturday, November 8, a local public holiday to mark the celebrations of the 10th Jeep Rally and local fair, allowing residents to participate in the highly anticipated annual event.
The four-day rally, jointly organized by the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) and the Muzaffargarh district administration, kicked off on Thursday after completion of all necessary preparations. The adventurous competition spans the desert tracks of Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, and Layyah, drawing racers from across Pakistan and abroad.
According to the official schedule, registration and technical and medical inspections began at 9 AM and continued until 3 PM. The qualifying round is set for November 7 at Head Muhammad Wala Chhaga Manga, followed by the stock category race on November 8 and the modified and women’s category events on November 9 (Sunday). The rally will wrap up with a grand closing ceremony at Faisal Stadium.
To ensure public safety, District Police Officer (DPO) Ghazanfar Ali Shah confirmed that over 400 police personnel, including three DSPs and 11 inspectors, will be deployed throughout the event. Search operations have also been conducted along the rally route as part of comprehensive security arrangements.
DPO Shah emphasized that strict security protocols are in place to maintain law and order and ensure that both participants and spectators can enjoy the event safely.
