Woman Assaults Female Polio Worker in Lahore

Police have registered a case against a woman for allegedly attacking and injuring a female polio worker in the Kot Lakhpat area of Lahore, 24NewsHD reported on Monday.

According to police, the FIR was filed on the complaint of Mohammad Ayaz Ashraf, in charge of the polio vaccination team. The accused, identified as Samina Babar, refused to let health workers administer polio drops to her children.

When the female health worker Saba Taj tried to convince her, the woman, along with her two sons, reportedly attacked the team. During the assault, a brick struck Saba Taj’s head, leaving her injured and bleeding on the spot.

Police said the accused also damaged the scooter of the polio workers before fleeing. An investigation is underway, and officials have vowed strict action against those obstructing the national anti-polio campaign.
