NADRA Issues New Guidelines for Changing Address on CNIC

NADRA has issued important and comprehensive guidelines for citizens wishing to update their current address on their Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC), making the process easier and more transparent.

According to the department, the address-change procedure has been further simplified to help citizens keep their residential records accurate and up to date.

A NADRA spokesperson said applicants must provide one valid document as proof of residence.

Acceptable documents include electricity, gas, or water bills in the name of a parent, spouse, or the applicant at the residential address.

Citizens may also submit a domicile certificate, property documents, a housing society allotment letter, or a verified rental agreement as proof.

NADRA officials said citizens can visit any nearby NADRA Registration Centre with the required documents, where staff will guide them through the complete address-update process.

The authority added that the procedure has been made faster and more transparent to ensure citizens do not face delays or inconvenience.
