Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi has taken notice of a viral video showing the hardships of a blind porter, Akbar Ali Jamali, who has been working at Jacobabad Railway Station.
Acting on humanitarian grounds, the minister approved Jamali’s appeal and announced a job for his son in Pakistan Railways. He also pledged to personally fund treatment options for Jamali’s eyes.
Abbasi has invited Akbar Ali Jamali to the Ministry of Railways, where he will personally oversee the process of financial assistance and his son’s employment.
Akbar Ali Jamali has been supporting his family for years by carrying passengers’ luggage with the help of his young daughter.

The video, which showed his daily struggles at the railway station, gained widespread public attention and prompted the minister’s swift response.
