The Islamabad Traffic Police are continuing a special enforcement drive against motorcycle lane violations, combining strict action with rider education to improve road discipline in the capital.
Launched on January 1, 2026, the campaign focuses on ensuring that motorcyclists follow designated lanes on major city roads. Officials say the initiative is not limited to issuing fines or taking legal action; instead, riders are also being educated about traffic rules and road safety to bring long-term behavioral change.
According to the Islamabad Traffic Police, the campaign has delivered encouraging results. Authorities report a significant drop, up to 95 percent, in lane violation cases on key routes, including Club Road and Srinagar Highway. Improved traffic flow and reduced congestion have also been observed in these areas.
