FBR Makes Asset Declaration Mandatory for Officers Seeking Promotions

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has directed officers seeking promotion to declare all their assets and submit performance evaluation reports before the Departmental Promotion Committee meeting.

The FBR issued a communication to Grade 17-18 officers in the Pakistan Customs Service who are included in the promotion zone for advancement to the next grade. The Committee meeting will be convened soon to consider promotions to the next grade.

Before the promotion committee’s meeting, FBR has made it mandatory for officers to submit asset declarations and performance evaluation reports covering their assets up to June 30, 2025.

FBR has set January 16, 2026, as the deadline for this purpose.

Officers who are in the promotion zone must comply with the requirements to be considered for advancement to higher grades.

Officials said the requirements apply to all Pakistan Customs Service officers currently eligible for promotion from Grade 17 to Grade 18. The asset declaration requirement is designed to ensure that officers seeking career advancement have properly documented their wealth and income sources.

Performance evaluation reports will be used by the Departmental Promotion Committee to assess officers’ suitability for higher responsibilities and grades.

Officers who fail to meet the January 16 deadline for submitting asset declarations and performance reports may face delays in their promotion cases.

The promotion committee will review all submitted documents before making recommendations.
