Security measures across Lahore have been significantly tightened in the wake of a recent incident in Islamabad, prompting authorities to move the provincial capital into a high-alert mode.
Lahore CCPO Bilal Siddique Kaimkhani has ordered enhanced security arrangements at mosques, imambargahs, and other religious locations, alongside increased vigilance at public spaces and busy marketplaces to safeguard citizens.
Police have also been instructed to strengthen monitoring at all entry and exit points of the city. Supervisory officers are required to stay active on the ground and ensure round-the-clock oversight, while special teams have been deployed to keep a close watch on identified hotspot areas.
In addition, the Safe City Authority will continue real-time surveillance of major roads and sensitive locations through its camera network.
Authorities have appealed to residents to remain alert and promptly report any suspicious activity by calling helpline 15 or contacting their nearest police station.
