Punjab University Introduces QR Code-Based Fee Payment System

Punjab University (PU) has become the first public sector university in the country to introduce QR code-based fee transactions after signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with JS Bank to digitize university fee challans through Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR system.

The MoU signing ceremony was held at the Vice Chancellor’s Office on Wednesday. PU Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali and senior officials from JS Bank formalized the agreement.

Under the agreement, Punjab University will implement Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR solution for fee payments. The system will allow students to pay tuition and other university dues digitally through mobile banking applications.

It will provide real-time payment processing, reduce the manual handling of challans, and improve transparency and efficiency in financial transactions.

Speaking at the ceremony, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ali said the university is committed to adopting modern technologies to improve administrative efficiency and make processes easier for students. He said digitizing fee challans through Raast Dynamic QR will make payments faster, more secure, and more convenient for students and parents.

He added that the initiative supports PU’s broader goal of promoting a cashless and paperless campus, reducing queues at banks, and streamlining financial operations.

Representatives of JS Bank said that Zindigi’s Raast Dynamic QR is a secure, State Bank-compliant digital payment solution that enables instant interbank transfers. They expressed confidence that the collaboration will strengthen digital infrastructure at Punjab University and promote greater financial inclusion.
