Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication, Shaza Fatima Khawaja, convened a high-level consultative meeting with key delegates from education, health, agriculture, and governance sectors on 16th February, to accelerate the implementation of Pakistan’s National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy 2025.
The session focused on fast-tracking AI adoption as a national priority under the policy’s Fourth Pillar: Transformation and Evolution. This pillar prioritizes the integration of AI across key sectors through sector-specific roadmaps, comprehensive workforce upskilling programs, and performance evaluation systems to drive inclusive digital transformation and position Pakistan as a knowledge-based economy.
Minister Shaza Fatima Khawaja, while addressing the delegates, underscored the government’s commitment: “The National AI Policy 2025, approved by the Federal Cabinet, marks a decisive step towards a technology-driven future. AI is the engine for progress in education, health, agriculture, and governance. Through targeted roadmaps, mass upskilling, and ethical adoption, we are building a resilient, inclusive, and globally competitive Pakistan.”
Among the prominent attendees was Sadia Ahmed, CEO of CurricChain, who represented the education technology sector. CurricChain is a pioneering blockchain-powered platform that revolutionizes curriculum management, credential verification, and AI-driven personalized learning pathways in Pakistan.
Speaking after the meeting, Sadia Ahmed highlighted the alignment with national goals: “The National AI Policy 2025 provides a clear framework for transforming education through ethical and inclusive AI. CurricChain is fully committed to supporting this vision by delivering secure, verifiable, and adaptive educational infrastructure that empowers learners, educators, and institutions alike.”
The meeting concluded with the formation of cross-sectoral working groups tasked with finalizing detailed implementation plans in the coming months. Officials confirmed that pilot projects in AI-enabled education and agriculture will be launched in selected provinces by mid-2026, building on the policy’s ambitious targets for workforce training, innovation ecosystems, and sector-wide evolution.
This high-level engagement reinforces the government’s strategic push to harness AI responsibly and inclusively, aligning with the broader objectives of the National AI Policy 2025 to foster socio-economic progress, digital empowerment, and global competitiveness for Pakistan.
