The Punjab Finance Department has released Rs309 million to improve waste management and sanitation arrangements in public hospitals across the province.
According to official sources, the funds will be used to enhance cleanliness systems and ensure proper waste disposal in hospitals operating under the Punjab Specialised Healthcare and Medical Education Department.
In addition, Rs250 million has been allocated for the establishment of a new children’s hospital in Rawalpindi to strengthen paediatric healthcare facilities in the region.
Meanwhile, the Tourism Development Corporation of Punjab (TDCP) has been issued Rs25 million to support tourism promotion initiatives across the province.
Officials said the funds have been transferred through an online financial system to the specialised healthcare hospitals and other relevant institutions to ensure transparency and timely completion of the projects.
