Punjab Police Struggle Over Unpaid Wages

Police personnel are facing severe financial difficulties during the holy month of Ramadan due to the non-payment of their February salaries.

According to sources, salaries are normally transferred directly into officers’ bank accounts on the 25th of each month.

However, this time the payments have been delayed, forcing thousands of police employees to visit the Accountant General (AG) Office and banks repeatedly.

Bank officials have blamed the AG Office for the delay, while the AG Office has shifted responsibility onto the banks, leaving the issue unresolved.

Police personnel said the delay has disrupted household expenses, with many struggling to manage basic needs during Ramadan. They have appealed to the Punjab government to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure the timely release of their salaries.
