A fire broke out on the top of the Margalla Hills near Sector E-11 in Islamabad early Thursday morning, prompting an immediate response from firefighting teams.
According to the district administration, firefighters reached the hilltop on foot to extinguish the blaze. Rescue teams brought the fire under control at around 4:15 am, and the cooling process continued afterward.
A spokesperson for the administration said the fire erupted in the Margalla Avenue range. Around 30 firefighters from the Environment Directorate participated in the operation and managed to contain the flames within a short time.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out in the basement of a plaza in Rawalpindi, where a warehouse had been set up. Rescue teams battled the blaze for several hours before bringing it under control after 15 hours.
More than 50 volunteers and 13 rescue vehicles took part in the operation. Firefighters broke into the basement at two locations to control the flames and created a hole in the roof to release smoke.
Authorities said the cooling process is still underway to prevent the fire from reigniting.
