The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to provide a fuel subsidy for motorcyclists to offset the impact of rising petroleum prices.
According to officials, the province currently has around 1.4 to 1.6 million registered motorcycles. Under the decision, each registered motorcycle user will receive Rs. 2,200 in two installments to provide relief in travel expenses.
The subsidy aims to offer direct financial support to motorcyclists amid increasing fuel prices. In a related move, the provincial government has decided to maintain Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fares at the current level despite inflationary pressures.
The government has also announced the introduction of dedicated pink buses for women in the BRT system, with instructions to keep fares lower for female passengers.
Separately, the provincial administration said it is preparing a special agricultural relief package for farmers ahead of the wheat harvesting season.
