The Revenue Protection and Enforcement Cell (RPEC) of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Corporation (KWSC) has launched a large-scale crackdown on water theft across the city.
As part of this effort, a joint operation was carried out in the Sohrab Goth area along the Super Highway with the support of the Sindh Rangers. The operation targeted illegal connections taken from a 16-inch diameter water supply line.
According to KWSC officials, the primary objective was to eliminate unauthorized connections that were affecting the water distribution system. During the operation, all illegal connections were removed.
Officials said that after the removal, the pipelines were completely sealed using wooden plugs to prevent any future attempts at water theft.
Authorities also seized various equipment used in the illegal activity, including donkey pumps, mono block pumps, PVC pipes, and valves.
The operation is part of a broader effort by KWSC to curb water theft and protect the city’s water supply system.
