Rise of Zalmi – It’s Not Just a Team

It is that time of the year again. The 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League has kicked off, pulling the entire nation into a cricket frenzy. Social media timelines are flooded with match-day chatter, and fans across the country are rallying behind their favorite teams.

Amid this excitement, Peshawar Zalmi, lovingly referred to by fans as the “Yellow Storm”, has dropped an absolute banger of an anthem to keep passions high throughout the tournament. Presented by Ufone 5G, ‘Rise of Zalmi’, perfectly captures the spirit, pride, and energy that the franchise has come to represent over the years.

The trilingual, ‘Rise of Zalmi’ anthem beautifully reflects the team’s passion while celebrating its cultural roots in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Sung in English, Urdu, and Pashto, the track symbolizes the team’s growing popularity across linguistic and geographical boundaries.

Vocals for the anthem are delivered by Saif Ali Khan, Wajid Layaq, Nehaal Naseem, Bilal Ali, and Altamash Sever. On screen, the video features the brand ambassador and face of Peshawar Zalmi, Mahira Khan, alongside actress Syra Yousaf, which adds crucial star power to the production.

The anthem also brings the team’s cricketing heroes into the spotlight, including the captain, Babar Azam, Iftikhar Ahmed, Mohammad Haris, and Shahnawaz Dahani.

The track blends modern instrumentals with cultural overtones, creating a sound that is both contemporary and rooted in the franchise’s identity. The lyrics, music, and choreography come together seamlessly to deliver an acoustically melodious and visually engaging experience for fans. The chorus, “Raise your hands for Zalmi”, is particularly electrifying, instantly amplifying the energy of the anthem and rallying fans behind the spirit of Peshawar Zalmi.

The powerful line, “Ye Sirf Team Nahi Hai” (It’s not just a team), captures the essence of what Zalmi represents today. Over the years, the franchise has evolved beyond cricket to become a symbol of pride, unity, and inspiration for its fans. Through the Zalmi Foundation, the team has consistently promoted youth development, education, and community initiatives.

The anthem’s video carries a futuristic visual theme, reflecting the franchise’s forward-looking approach. This creative direction is also influenced by its association with Ufone 5G, that has supported the franchise for the third consecutive year, and has built quite a reputation in youth enablement through sports.

As part of this collaboration, Ufone and Zalmi have set up a Zalmi Fan Park at Captain Karnal Sher Khan Stadium in Peshawar. The fan park allows supporters to come together and enjoy PSL matches on big screens, creating a vibrant atmosphere where cricket lovers can celebrate the spirit of the game.
