PMD Issues Flood Warning for KP and Kashmir

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a flood warning for April 7 and 8, forecasting rising water levels and possible flash flooding in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and adjoining regions.

According to the advisory, the Kabul River at Nowshera is expected to reach low to medium flood levels during the forecast period. The department said flash flooding is also likely in tributaries, including the Kohat Toi, Kurram, and Gomal rivers, as well as in streams and nullahs in Kashmir.

Urban flooding is expected in Peshawar, Mardan, and Nowshera due to anticipated rainfall and runoff. The PMD has advised authorities to remain on alert and take necessary precautionary measures to manage the situation.

Residents living in low-lying and vulnerable areas, particularly near streams and nullahs, have been urged to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary movement during the forecast period
