The government has introduced a new digital process for motorcycle owners to access fuel subsidies through the Pakistan Asaan Khidmat app, aiming to make the relief measure easier and more transparent for the public.
The initiative allows eligible users to apply directly from their phones by completing a verification process linked to their vehicle registration.
Under the procedure,
Officials from the National Information Technology Board said the verification system has been designed to ensure that only valid claims are processed. Authorities stressed that ownership registration is a mandatory condition to prevent misuse and ensure that the subsidy reaches the rightful vehicle owner.
In a related move, the Excise Department said the free motorcycle ownership transfer service remains active in Islamabad. According to officials, 496 motorcycles were transferred free of charge in the past 24 hours, with the office operating around the clock to facilitate the process.
Director General Irfan Mehmood urged citizens to take advantage of the free transfer service so they can become eligible for the fuel subsidy scheme. The measure is part of broader efforts to expand access to relief support and ensure proper vehicle registration records.
