The Rawalpindi district administration has announced another local holiday, declaring Friday, April 11, as a public holiday across the territorial jurisdiction of the district.
According to an official order issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner Rawalpindi on April 10, the holiday has been declared by Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema under powers granted by the Punjab government.
However, the notification makes it clear that all emergency dealing departments, institutions, and authorities will remain operational despite the holiday.
The latest announcement extends the string of holiday-related disruptions already seen in Rawalpindi and the wider twin cities area over the past few days, where multiple public services and schedules have been affected by official closures and administrative restrictions.
With the new holiday now confirmed for April 11, residents can expect another day of limited routine activity in parts of the district, although essential and emergency services will continue to function as usual.
