The Sindh government will distribute pink electric scooters to women in another district as the rollout of the mobility scheme continues.
The distribution ceremony will be held in Sukkur on Friday, April 17, under the initiative being implemented by the Sindh Mass Transit Authority.
The development follows the government’s recent decision to expand the scheme beyond Karachi, with Sukkur and Hyderabad included in the next phase. Officials said the scooters are being provided free of cost to selected women to improve mobility and ease daily travel.
Under the criteria announced earlier, applicants must be permanent residents of Sindh and either students or working women. They are also required to hold a valid driving license for a motorbike or car.
The program has already been implemented in Karachi, where women have received electric scooters under the same initiative. Authorities are expected to continue distribution in other districts as the rollout progresses.
