IG Punjab Announces Major Welfare Funds for Police Employees’ Children

Rao Abdul Karim has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring the best medical treatment for special children of Punjab Police employees, as the department released more than Rs889 million in welfare funds during the current year.

According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, 721 children suffering from cerebral palsy received a monthly allowance of Rs20,000 each, with total disbursements exceeding Rs642 million.

In addition, 171 children affected by thalassemia were provided Rs30,000 per month, amounting to more than Rs153 million.

The department also released over Rs62 million for the treatment of 38 children suffering from various serious illnesses.

Six children undergoing cancer treatment and bone marrow transplants received Rs 10.6 million, while Rs 11.9 million was provided for five children suffering from heart and kidney diseases.

Furthermore, 13 children facing hearing impairment received Rs872,000 for medical treatment and assistance.

IG Punjab said welfare initiatives for the treatment of police employees’ children are continuing, adding that medical facilities are being provided through agreements with different hospitals.

He also stated that measures for the welfare and well-being of special children are being further strengthened and improved.
