JBL Soundgear Clips Get A New Emerald Green Special Edition

JBL has launched a new Emerald Green Special Edition of its Soundgear Clips open earbuds in China. The new version joins the existing color options that were introduced when the earbuds launched last August.

The Soundgear Clips already come in Copper Ghost, Black Ghost, White Ghost, Blue Ghost, and Purple Ghost. The new Emerald Green version uses a translucent green shell with a darker internal tint, along with a green neck and gold accents.

Design And Fit

The Soundgear Clips use a clip-on design made for open ear listening. The form factor is designed to sit comfortably alongside earrings or sunglasses.

The earbuds use JBL’s OpenSound technology with air conduction audio. Instead of sealing inside the ear canal, the SonicArc-shaped design places the drivers outside the ear to reduce pressure during longer listening sessions.

JBL says the design also helps reduce sound leakage and improve bass response through its Bass Boost algorithm.

Calls And Durability

For calls, the Soundgear Clips include four microphones with AI-powered call processing. The system is designed to make voices clearer in noisy environments.

The earbuds are also rated IP54 for dust and water resistance.

Battery Life And Price

The Soundgear Clips offer up to 32 hours of total battery life with the charging case. The earbuds themselves last up to 8 hours on a single charge.

A 10-minute quick charge provides up to 3 hours of additional playback.

The JBL Soundgear Clips Emerald Green Special Edition is now available in China for around $147. JBL has not confirmed whether this color option will launch globally.

The existing Soundgear Clips color options are available through JBL’s official site for $149.
