The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has withdrawn its Airport User Recreation & Attractions (AURA) advertisement, which sought proposals for the development and operation of recreational facilities at three major airports.
The advertisement had invited interested companies to submit bids through PAA’s commercial wing for facilities including zip lines, chairlifts, enclosed slides, cable cars, and other attractions.
The proposed project covered New Islamabad International Airport, Jinnah International Airport Karachi, and Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore.
Under the earlier plan, the facilities were expected to connect terminal buildings with parking areas while also offering recreational attractions for airport users. The project was presented as a way to reduce movement time between airport facilities and improve the overall passenger experience.
However, PAA has now withdrawn the AURA advertisement, bringing the bidding process for the proposed facilities to a halt.
