The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed a 7 percent increase in salaries and pensions for provincial government employees as part of its Budget 2026-27.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi announced the proposal while presenting the provincial budget in the KP Assembly on Friday.
If approved by the assembly, the increase will apply to government employees and pensioners across the province.
The proposed raise comes as the provincial government seeks to provide financial relief to public sector workers amid rising inflation and living costs.
The budget will now be debated in the KP Assembly before being put to a vote.
The salary and pension increase will take effect only after the budget receives legislative approval.
