The Lahore Traffic Police has blacklisted 100 vehicles with the highest number of unpaid e-challans as part of a crackdown on habitual traffic violators, according to a report by 24News.
Officials said strict action will now be taken against the blacklisted vehicles whenever they are detected through the city’s Safe City surveillance camera network.
According to traffic police data, one vehicle was found to have committed as many as 398 traffic violations, while several others accumulated between 200 and 300 violations without clearing the resulting fines.
Authorities said red-light violations and lane discipline breaches are among the most common offenses committed by the blacklisted vehicles.
The owners of these vehicles collectively owe millions of rupees in unpaid fines, with outstanding dues on some vehicles reaching up to Rs. 500,000.
Traffic police officials said the vehicles have been formally blacklisted and legal action has been approved against owners who continue to ignore repeated notices and penalties.
