Pakistan Clears Key Pipeline to Complete Karachi-to-Peshawar Fuel Corridor

Pakistan has approved the Machike-Thallian-Tarru Jabba White Oil Pipeline, removing the final major obstacle to a project that will complete a key fuel transportation corridor from Karachi to Peshawar and strengthen the country’s energy supply chain.

The 435-kilometer pipeline was advanced with the facilitation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, which helped coordinate between stakeholders, resolve outstanding issues and secure the necessary approvals for the project.

The pipeline will create an important south-to-north route for transporting white oil products across Pakistan, improving the movement of fuel to northern markets and reducing dependence on road-based logistics.

Officials say the project is expected to improve fuel supply efficiency, cut transportation costs, reduce transit losses and make the national energy distribution system more reliable.

The project has remained on the SIFC’s priority agenda, with a memorandum of understanding signed under its platform in a move that also underscored efforts to attract investment and promote international collaboration in Pakistan’s energy sector.

Beyond fuel logistics, the pipeline is expected to support job creation, modernize energy infrastructure and bolster investor confidence by signaling the government’s willingness to back large strategic projects.
