Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has announced a special honorarium equal to six basic monthly salaries for government employees who worked on the preparation of the federal budget 2026-27.
The finance minister made the announcement while addressing the National Assembly.
Aurangzeb praised employees of the Prime Minister’s Office and Parliament for their contribution to the budget exercise. He said all eligible employees involved in the process would receive six basic salaries as an honorarium.
The announcement also covers relevant employees of the Ministry of Finance and the Prime Minister’s House who participated in preparing the budget.
The payment will serve as recognition for the additional work carried out by officials during the preparation and presentation of the federal budget.
Meanwhile, the finance minister announced another administrative decision involving the Federal Board of Revenue.
He said the FBR chairman and his team would travel to Karachi during the second week of every month to perform their official duties.
The regular visits are expected to improve coordination between the tax authority and the country’s largest commercial center.
