Punjab education boards have changed the marking method for Intermediate Part-II Practical Examinations 2026, introducing centralized checking for the written part of practical papers.
According to the update, BISE Lahore Inter Part-II Practical Exams 2026 are scheduled to begin on 10 July 2026. The revised policy will apply to practical exams of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Science, and Statistics.
Under the new system, practical examiners will no longer mark written practical answer sheets at the examination centres. Instead, the written component will be checked at the board level through centralized marking, similar to the checking process used for theory papers.
Students will still be assessed at the practical centres for their live practical performance, handwritten practical notebook, and viva voce. This means candidates will need to prepare for all parts of the practical exam, including lab work, oral questions, notebooks, and written practical answers.
The marks distribution for Inter Part-II practical exams will be as follows:
| Subject | Performance, Notebook & Viva | Written Answer Sheet | Total Marks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Physics | 16 marks | 14 marks | 30 marks |
| Chemistry | 14 marks | 16 marks | 30 marks |
| Biology | 13 marks | 17 marks | 30 marks |
| Computer Science | 26 marks | 24 marks | 50 marks |
| Statistics | 20 marks | 10 marks | 30 marks |
