Huawei has launched the nova 16 Pro smartphone with a high-end camera setup, a new Kirin chipset, a large battery, and fast wired charging.
Design and Display
The Huawei nova 16 Pro features a 6.84-inch OLED display with 1.07 billion colors and P3 wide color gamut support. The screen offers FHD+ resolution and uses a 1Hz to 120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate for smoother visuals.
The display supports multi-touch input and is protected by Kunlun Glass. It also reaches up to 6,000 nits of peak brightness, making it easier to use outdoors in bright conditions.
Huawei has packed the 7,000mAh battery into a 7.1mm slim body. The phone weighs 218 grams. The Huawei Nova 16 Pro comes in Starry Black, Sky Blue, White, and Frost Purple.
Internals and Software
The nova 16 Pro is powered by the Kirin 9010S chipset and runs HarmonyOS 6.1.
Huawei says overall performance has improved by 10% compared with the previous generation. Home screen smoothness is up by 12%, task execution speed has improved by 44%, and app loading speed is up by 21%.
The phone also uses a new ice bridge cooling architecture, which improves heat dissipation by 25% for longer gaming sessions.
Cameras
The Huawei nova 16 Pro uses the same camera specifications as the nova 16 Ultra.
It has a 200MP main camera with a 1/1.28 inch large sensor and an f/1.8 aperture. The RYYB color matrix allows more light to reach the sensor, helping brighten photos and videos in darker scenes.
The second camera is a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.7x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. It uses a 1/2.5 inch sensor for clearer image quality.
The third camera is a 50MP ultrawide lens with an 118-degree field of view. It also supports 2.5cm super macro photography.
Huawei has also added a 1.5-million-pixel channel Red Map camera for color correction. A laser focus sensor is included to improve autofocus performance.
On the front, the pill-shaped cutout includes two sensors: a 50MP main camera and a color sensor.
The camera system also includes AI-powered photo and video editing tools for removing unwanted objects, improving lighting effects, and more.
Battery and Pricing
The Huawei nova 16 Pro packs a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired fast charging support.
The phone is available in three storage variants. The 256GB model is priced at $576, the 512GB version costs $650, and the 1TB option is priced at $738.
