New details about Apple’s upcoming foldable iPhone have surfaced through leaks. The device, commonly referred to as the iPhone Fold, is expected to debut in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro lineup.
According to tipster Instant Digital on Weibo, the foldable smartphone may be available in three storage configurations. The same leak also revealed potential pricing for the device in China.
Storage Options and Pricing
The tipster claims the base model with 256GB of storage could be priced at CNY 15,999 in China. The 512GB variant is expected to cost CNY 17,999, while the 1TB model could reach CNY 19,999.
When converted directly to US dollars, the base model would cost about $2,330. That figure aligns with earlier leaks about the phone’s potential price.
However, analysts at Macworld note that Apple typically uses its own internal currency conversions, which often differ from standard exchange rates. Based on the price difference between the iPhone 17 Pro in the US and China, the iPhone Fold could start at around $1,999 in the US market.
RAM Details
Another report from The Bell has revealed details about the phone’s memory. According to the publication, Apple has ordered DRAM from Samsung Electronics for the device.
The report states that the iPhone Fold will include 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM.
Apple has not officially confirmed the foldable iPhone or its specifications yet.
