2 Revenue Officers Sent on 14-Day Judicial Remand in Land Fraud Case Involving Ex-Minister and Governor PTI

RAWALPINDI: Two revenue officers, Muhammad Salim Akhter, and Raja Ashfaq have been sent to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand by Duty Civil Judge Rawalpindi Muhammad Zaigham on Saturday.

As per the details, they were arrested by the anti-graft body in connection with a land fraud case that involves former governor Sindh Imran Ismail and ex-minister of PTI Amir Mehmood Kiani.

The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Rawalpindi Region investigators have been ordered to reproduce the accused on March 25 for further proceedings against them.

Furthermore, the ACE Rawalpindi Region had earlier booked 10 individuals, including the former Governor of Sindh Imran Ismail, former PTI health minister Amir Mehmood Kiani, his son Fahad Amir Kiani, and Asim Aziz, owner of illegal Abdullah City, for submitting tampered documents to RDA for NOC of housing society and swindling innocent citizens by selling plots in bogus housing society “Avalon City” on Chakri Road.

During the hearing, ACE Rawalpindi Region Sub Inspector (SI) Naheem Abbas produced the 2 accused and sought a seven-day extension in their physical remand.

However, the court rejected the plea and sent the two accused to Adiala Jail on a 14-day judicial remand.

ACE Rawalpindi Region Assistant Director legal Shehzad Ahmed, Assistant Director Nisar Ahmed Joya, and counsels for the accused, Raja Guftar Ahmed and Chaudhry Mehran Anwar Raja, were also present in the courtroom.

The anti-graft body is conducting raids to arrest former governor Sindh Imran Ismail, ex-minister Amir Mehmood Kiani, and other accused.
