Gulshan-i-Ravi-Samanabad Underpass Construction Causes Traffic Woes in Lahore

LAHORE: The construction of the Gulshan-i-Ravi-Samanabad underpass is causing major inconvenience for drivers traveling on Multan Road or entering Samanabad from Gulshan-i-Ravi and vice versa.

As per the details, the traffic congestion caused a waste of fuel and economic difficulties for commuters and a number of people are criticizing the city’s civic agencies for not properly planning the launch of these projects.

The current construction is causing traffic to be stuck on Multan Road near Samanabad Mor and causing difficulties for drivers entering Multan Road from Gulshan-i-Ravi.

Additionally, the increased cost of living in Lahore has also affected local businesses, causing some people to consider moving abroad.

The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) is trying to address these issues by speeding up the construction work and taking measures for environmental protection.

The government has revised the timeline for the completion of the project to April from June.

It is important to mention that the construction will lead to wider roads and the shifting of utilities such as drainage pipelines, electrical poles, PTCL, and gas.

The project is expected to result in yearly savings in fuel costs, vehicle running costs, and travel time.
