LAHORE: Punjab’s Local Government and Community Development (LG&CD) Secretary, Dr. Irshad Ahmed, has called for the implementation of an automated fare collection system for the Lahore Parking Company.
During a meeting at the Punjab Civil Secretariat, Dr. Ahmed directed company officers to monitor parking sites using CCTV cameras and to tighten monitoring mechanisms for 100% collection.
He also suggested conducting a survey to identify potential new parking sites and forming a board of directors.
The Secretary demanded a report on the automation system within a week to prevent corruption in the company, which is facing losses due to manual collection.
Besides, he emphasized that the officers should also take action against illegal parking operations.
