QUETTA: The residents of Quetta have requested the government to complete the development work under the Quetta Development Package (QDP) at the earliest.
According to sources, the people demanded that the work must be completed with adequate quality and sustainability, and without impediments to inhabitants’ everyday lives.
The details suggest that residents voiced concern about the needless delays in completing the QDP and the mismanagement of money, both of which they believe should not be accepted under any circumstances.
Besides, they also stated that the delay in road construction as part of the QDP has increased problems for locals, leading to health issues such as lung ailments.
The public demanded that utility service lines be transferred as soon as possible to avoid future delays in the projects, adding that the government quickly remove any concerns of stakeholders and expedite the progress of the projects.
Furthermore, the locals have also urged the Chief Minister to investigate the reasons for the delays and any potential misuse of funds, urging the relevant departments to take steps for better project management.
It is worth noting that the government received a special package 3 years ago to improve roads, the sewerage system, street lighting, and footpaths in Quetta, with the goal of restoring its beauty and providing better facilities to the masses.
