LAHORE: The Director General of Lahore Development Authority, Aamir Ahmad Khan, appeared before Justice Shahid Karim of the Lahore High Court regarding the Lahore Master plan.
The court stated in its remarks that it would be best to evaluate it to further hone the master plan recommendations since the preparation of the Lahore Master Plan was a detailed and technical procedure.
Furthermore, the LHC further advised that a local or foreign expert should be sought for the evaluation of the master plan to examine it from all angles.
According to the court, unplanned and environmentally harmful firms must be removed from the city immediately and the process must be repeated every two or three years.
Besides, Justice Shahid Kareem stated that he has personally visited the outskirts of Lahore and found the greenery getting harmed in the city as Illegal housing societies were spreading swiftly.
The court was pleased with the actions made by the LDA, and Justice Karim remarked that fruitful measures had been taken under the supervision of DG LDA Aamir Ahmad Khan.
In his remarks, Justice Shahid Karim stated, “This is an issue for the whole country, including the future generations, and it is clear that environmental pollution is a burning problem.”
