ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has instructed Building Control to conduct a survey of commercial and high-rise buildings in the Capital to ensure their structural stability.
The federal city falls in Zone-2B of seismic zones, and therefore, Deputy Director General Mohammad Shahbaz Hussain has directed all building control wings to conduct a survey of these buildings.
CDA Chairman Captain (retired) Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has requested all developers, occupants, and owners to have their buildings evaluated for structural stability by reputable third-party consultants to prevent any unforeseen incidents.
According to a CDA official, the purpose of this survey is to identify any faulty buildings by checking their structural stability.
