LAHORE: Lahore Development Authority (LDA) has successfully recovered a sum of PKR 368.3 million in the first seven months of the fiscal year of 2022-23.
This achievement was made possible through a campaign against illegal commercialization, construction, and defaulters.
Officials have attributed the recovery to LDA’s Town Planning (Zone II), which was under the leadership of Director Salman Mahfooz.
Mahfooz and his team launched 15 operations to crack down on illegal constructions and individuals who defaulted on commercialization charges. As a result, legal action was taken against more than 250 properties.
During the first seven months of the fiscal year of 2022-23, TP (Zone II) managed to recover Rs368.3 million. This amount is 110% higher than the recovery made during the same period in the fiscal year of 2021-22, which was Rs171 million.
Director Salman Mahfooz stated that LDA is committed to facilitating the general public. As part of this commitment, 184 building plans were approved, including 11 commercial and apartment buildings.
In addition, 127 completion certificates were issued, 27 properties were allowed for permanent commercialization/land use conversion, and three petrol pumps were commercialized.
Furthermore, over 100 annual commercial cases were renewed by the authorities.
