PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Northern Bypass project, which aims to alleviate traffic congestion in Peshawar, is scheduled to be finished by March 2024.
According to an official from the National Highway Authority (NHA), land-related problems had previously slowed down the project’s progress, but the NHA, along with other officials, worked collaboratively to resolve these issues.
He stated that the contractor had been mobilized and that work was currently ongoing, with a focus on completing the project by March 2024.
The first phase of the project had already been completed, and the second phase, which spans 12 kilometers, is now fully operational.
To expedite the project’s completion, contractors have been instructed to work double shifts.
It is important to note that the bypass is expected to significantly improve traffic in Peshawar city and be a “game-changer for the region.”
Furthermore, the official also shared that project 3A had achieved an 80% completion rate, while project 3B was in the process of being initiated.
