Re-election Ordered in Islamabad’s Jammu Kashmir Housing Society after ‘Fake’ Election Allegations

ISLAMABAD: The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad and Registrar Cooperatives have ordered re-election in Jammu Kashmir Housing Society Islamabad after allegations of a ‘fake’ election emerged.

The decision was made after several weeks of hearings where statements were recorded from Sardar Sabeel, Tahir Malik, and others who were elected through the alleged ‘fake’ vote.

The petitioner, Obaid Qureshi, presented all the evidence, and after being found guilty, re-election was ordered within 60 days.

According to records, 526 fake votes were cast in the election held on January 1, 2023, and it has also been decided to register cases against those who cast fake votes for people residing in foreign countries.

Sources indicate that cases over alleged corruption, forgery, China cutting, and other crimes against society officials, including Sardar Sabeel and Tahir Malik, will soon be registered.

Sources also suggest that Sardar Sabeel was previously associated with the Ministry of Interior Cooperatives Housing Society and later moved to the Jammu Kashmir Housing Society.
