CDWP Approves 11 Development Projects Worth PKR 63.82Bn

ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has given the green light to 11 development projects valued at Rs63.82 billion.

During the meeting, which was chaired by the Federal Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives, representatives from various ministries and divisions discussed 10 projects relating to housing, healthcare, communication, railways, and education.

One of the approved projects is the second revised China-Pakistan Economic Corridor Support Project, costing Rs909.285 million.

The project aims to establish a Project Management Unit at the Ministry of Railways and a Project Implementation Unit in Lahore to oversee the efficient implementation of CPEC activities on Pakistan Railways’ ML-1. Other approved projects include the construction of the Lahore Sialkot Motorway link Highway, the construction of a bypass in District Chakwal, and the upgrading of the Radiology Department at Shaikh Zayed Postgraduate Medical Institute.

It is important to note that the CDWP has also approved the establishment of the Institute of Progressive Sciences and Technology in Miranshah North Waziristan, a National Police Hospital, and a Faculty Development Program for Pakistani Universities, among others.
